We love you!

I love Mom for teaching us what was right and how to always choose the right. We knew if we were in trouble without her ever even saying anything. I really appreciated her love of the gospel and everything righteous.

Jewelene had a special experience with Mom that she wants to share. When we lived in Nevada, Jewelene was wondering if she would ever get pregnant. During a quiet time of pondering about motherhood and our mom, she felt Mom in the room close to her. It felt like Mom was putting her arms around her and letting her feel her love for us. We're glad she got to know Cai's spirit before he came to earth.

In my life right now, I'm trying to teach my young children principles such as obedience, kindness, attitude, patience, respect, etc., while at the same time practing them myself. I appreciate Mom exemplifying these priciples and teaching them to us kids. It seems like whenever we got in trouble (which I was good at avoiding, since it was hardly ever my fault anyway) Mom's punishments worked to teach us the lessons we needed. I don't remember her ever raising her voice, yelling, or speaking harshly. And she didn't let our bad attitudes affect her cheerful outlook. So, ultimately, I feel that I owe much of my character and hence, accomplishments to Mom. The way she interacted with us in the little day-to-day things helped instill in us a positive self-concept, confidence, and Christ-like qualities that impacted every facet of our lives. I don't think there is a limit to her good influence. And, once again, it was her diligence in the small things that brought about greatness.
