Talking About Mom

Remember these?
Last night I was really tired and started crying a little bit during our scripture study about mom. Jake's really sweet about it, so this morning when we woke up he asked me to tell him some stories about mom. I told him about how she loved wildflowers, how she would transplant them from the scar into our front yard, how she tried not to look disappointed when I picked the only wild flower that had ever grown on it's own by our front steps. But I think one of my favorite memories of mom was at the end of one summer when I picked a big bouquet of late wildflowers and brought them inside. She took them so enthusiastically and put them in a vase on the table. Then her eyes started to water and her nose started running and wondered if she might be crying until one of the sisters (I don't remember who) came in and told me my flowers were giving mom allergies. But she refused to throw them out! She told me they were beautiful and kept them on the table with her eyes watering and her nose running for days.

Anyway, that's one of my favorites. What are yours?
